I use peanut butter as a treat for my own dogs as well as for my client's dogs. Please note that there are some brands of peanut butter that use an artifical sweetener xylitol. This sweetener is  usually found in specialty peanut butters. Thus far these five brands have been identified:  (1) Go Nuts, Co., (2) Hank's Protein Plus Peanut Butter, (3) Krush Nutrition, (4) Nuts 'N More, and (5) P28. Please not that xylitol is extremely dangerous for dogs — even in small quantities. It can cause hypoglycemia, seizures, and liver damage. I do not use any of these brands and never have used them. I used the Kroger Natural brand of peanut butter with no added sweetener.  Even if you do not use these brands of peanut butter please be sure to read the labels and check for this ingredient to make sure your dog's are safe.
